So if you are a Middle School SpEd ITS or a Middle School ITS that will be working with a SpEd person, please plan on meeting at Cedar Valley Middle School at 12:30 on August 27th. Feel free to bring a lunch if you need to! The topic will be how this should look, defining roles, and ways to work together. After having covered a campus part-time to assist another full time ITS I can see how you need to have a solid plan to make it work and not step on toes. :)
Patsy and Justin - since you are both positions at your campus this might not be as relevant, but your insight is welcome!

Our TA TEKS meeting will start at 1 pm as planned.
Agenda for that meeting is:
Get to know our new middle school people
Go over action steps for this year - finalize -
Identify obstacles and possible solutions
Discuss use of PD time to develop lessons
Determine where lessons will be posted once written
Future meetings - Oct. 23 (after lunch after ITS meeting)

Notes:
SpEd ITS Expectations
  • Have 1 or 2 designated dates to be on the middle school campus. The campus should know when they can count on your presence.
  • Be responsible for Read 180 and other SpEd initiatives
  • Make sure that you have met the leadership team and that they know your role on the campus.
  • As we role out SpEd software and initiatives, we will share your expertise and knowledge with other middle school and elementary campuses.

For secondary and SpEd ITS - if you are overwhelmed and need help, please contact Robert Alford. If you have extra time on your hand, please let Robert Alford know that you are available.

Notes:
TA Teks Expectations
  • All MS ITS will populate the Ridgeview MS shared data folder with at least 2 (maybe 3) units tied to categories/Teks by end of January.
